Welcome Peterborough

Welcome Peterborough is a community information website for people considering immigration to Canada and newcomers settling in the Peterborough area. Supported by the New Canadians Centre, the City of Peterborough, and the Peterborough Immigration Partnership, it helps visitors explore the community and find practical guidance for building a life there.

The site offers information on immigration, newcomer services, and preparing for arrival, as well as guidance on housing, transportation, food, shopping, health, personal finances, children’s and seniors’ services, and places of worship. Visitors can learn about finding work, understanding the local labour market, starting or running a business, and accessing municipal services. Education resources cover English-language learning, credential recognition, schools, college and university, apprenticeships, and lifelong learning.

Welcome Peterborough also introduces the area’s arts, culture, recreation, weather, and local events, alongside stories from immigrants who have made Peterborough their home. It presents the Greater Peterborough area as a place with educational institutions, a mix of city and country living, and opportunities to connect with local support and community life.
