Welland Gliding Club is a volunteer-run, member-operated gliding club based at Lyveden Airfield near Brigstock and Corby, in the Northamptonshire countryside. Welcoming visitors and aspiring pilots, the club offers introductory gliding experiences, flight gift vouchers and opportunities to learn to glide. A High Flyer experience costs £110 and includes a 20–30-minute flight, making it an option for a personal adventure or a gift.
Flights are accompanied by a qualified instructor: visitors can enjoy the scenery or, if comfortable, try the controls. Views may include local landmarks such as Lyveden New Bield and Rockingham Castle, and on clear days may extend to The Wash. The club also invites enquiries about group flying and team-building evenings, and lists five-day gliding courses, with details for a 2027 course forthcoming.
Membership options include temporary and 12-month memberships, as well as a Fixed Price to Solo arrangement with tuition based on the British Gliding Association syllabus. The club provides visitor guidance and welcomes people to watch flying from a safe distance
