Welvaars en Calkoen

Welvaars & Calkoen is an Amsterdam-based catering and fine-dining partnership founded by Wendy Welvaars and Elise Calkoen, who brought their businesses together to combine two generations of experience and complementary perspectives. They create and serve distinctive meals at clients’ locations, offering catering for intimate dinners as well as business and cultural events. Their work includes events at notable venues such as the Rijksmuseum.

The partnership’s approach centres on refined flavours, seasonal ingredients and stylish service. Wendy trained as a chef and developed her experience in restaurants in Belgium and France before focusing on planning and delivering catering experiences. Elise’s background includes the Design Academy in Eindhoven and MasterChef; her cooking reflects an interest in healthy, low-waste food. Drawing on her travels, she combines seasonal local products and European techniques with the flavours and simplicity of Asian cuisine.
