Wendy Peterson

Wendy Peterson Fine Art is the website and creative home of artist Wendy Peterson, sharing her work and reflections on the ongoing journey of making art. The site introduces visitors to her pastel paintings and explains the qualities that make pastel a distinctive medium. Made from pure pigment formed into sticks or blocks with a binder, pastels offer a direct, tactile way to work with color. Their luminosity comes from pigment resting on the surface, and the medium allows artists to create through spontaneous applications and varied techniques. Wendy notes that, when used on conservation grounds and properly framed, pastel works can be highly permanent.

Visitors can explore recent works, learn more about the artist, and follow her blog, which includes posts such as a reading list, a review of lower-cost pastels and art materials, and thoughts on appreciating one’s art. The site also offers a newsletter sign-up for updates and new-art alerts, alongside links and contact information.
