Opération Terre des Enfants

Stichting Wereld Dorpen voor Kinderen is a Belgian public-benefit foundation working to give children growing up in extreme poverty a fair chance through education and comprehensive care. It supports more than 20,000 children in its communities in the Philippines, Mexico, Guatemala, Brazil, Honduras and Tanzania. Programs are adapted to local needs and include recognized secondary education, vocational training aligned with each country’s economic needs, and boarding accommodation. Children also receive three balanced meals a day, healthcare, including treatment for malnutrition and vaccinations, and extracurricular activities that use sport and culture to support their wellbeing and success at school.

The foundation operates schools, medical centers and a training center, and reports on projects such as an e-library for a girls’ village in Tanzania and a bakery in a boys’ village in Dodoma. Supporters can contribute through financial gifts, volunteering, businesses, legacies or family celebrations.
