About West Central Community Action
West Central Community Action, based in Harlan, Iowa, is dedicated to empowering low-income children, families, and individuals to achieve self-sufficiency. With over 55 years of experience, they offer a range of services to meet basic needs and support the journey towards independence. Their programs include the Child and Adult Care Food Program, Head Start and Early Head Start, Family Development and Self-Sufficiency, Utility Services, Weatherization, and Child Care Resource and Referral, among others.
As a member of the Community Action Partnership Network, West Central Community Action is part of a national effort to combat poverty and promote self-sufficiency. Their services cover a 10-county region in Southwest Iowa and are supported by partnerships with state and federal government agencies.
