Courses also cover pepper spray, tasers, and other defensive options, along with use-of-force lectures, relevant case law, and updates on Massachusetts self-defense laws. Instruction addresses weapon and equipment selection and practical considerations for their use. The Academy also offers the Basic Firearms Safety Course required to apply for a Massachusetts License to Carry (LTC) or Firearms Identification Card (FID).
