WSRGN

The Western States Regional Genetics Network (WSRGN) is a pivotal initiative aimed at enhancing access to genetic services and education for medically underserved populations across the West Coast and U.S. territories. Formally known as the Western States Genetic Services Collaborative, this federally-funded project, supported by the Health Resources and Services Administration, spans Alaska, California, Guam, Hawaii, Idaho, Oregon, and Washington.

WSRGN’s mission revolves around increasing accessibility and reducing disparities in clinical genetic and newborn screening services. Through collaborative efforts, the network strives to improve the health outcomes of individuals at risk for heritable disorders. Key objectives include strengthening partnerships among stakeholders, enhancing healthcare provider capabilities in utilizing genetic information, and boosting the capacity for newborn screening programs in each state and territory.
