About Westfries Museum
The Westfries Museum in Hoorn is currently closed for extensive renovations, but that doesn't mean they've stopped telling the story of West-Friesland. Through their temporary website, newsletter, and social media platforms, they continue to share the rich history of Hoorn and West-Friesland. Additionally, visitors can explore the multimedia show and podwalk, Discover the Story of Hoorn, at the Statenpoort.
Follow their construction progress through the dedicated construction blog. The museum is working on finding the right balance between restoring the building to its original glory and incorporating modern updates. Architects Boudewijn van Langen and Arné Peeters of TPAHG architects have chosen a bronzelike aesthetic for the interior design, as it complements both the historic and contemporary elements of the museum.
