West Island Tae Kwon

West Island Tae Kwon Do is a martial arts school serving the West Island community since 1986. Described as the area’s pioneering Tae Kwon Do school, it has grown into a community of more than 200 members and has graduated over 250 black belts, including four Masters. Training follows the traditions of Grand Master Chong Lee and is guided by Grand Master Tony Achkouti, an 8th Dan Kukkiwon.

The school welcomes students from age four, as well as adults and seniors, with classes suited to different ages and experience levels. New learners can try a free introductory class covering fundamental techniques in a welcoming setting. Programs combine Tae Kwon Do’s dynamic movements with its philosophy, emphasizing discipline, respect, and integrity alongside cardio exercise. Optional sparring gives students the opportunity to develop their fighting skills.

More than a place to train, West Island Tae Kwon Do presents itself as a community where members build friendships, strengthen their bodies and minds, and pursue personal growth through martial arts.
