Westival, formally known as the Westport Arts Festival, is a music and arts festival celebrating the town of Westport, its community and its culture. Set along Ireland’s Wild Atlantic Way, the festival brings audiences together for creative experiences spanning performance, visual art and community events. Its programme features artists from Mayo and across Ireland, with events presented across several days and organised by day for visitors to explore.
Westival’s 2026 programme runs from October 28 to November 1 and includes Mórshiúl na Samhna, a Samhain procession created by Luxe Landscape Theatre. Families can take part as lantern carriers in this community event, which honours the ancestors. Other featured events include performances by Dave Lofts and Fishamble’s King, a screening of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, and the free McGings Open Art Exhibition. The festival also offers opportunities to volunteer, support its work as a friend of the festival, and receive updates through its subscriber mailing list.
