About West Leeds Dispatch
West Leeds Dispatch is a community-led independent news organization that aims to bring news and information to the residents of West Leeds. Established in 2015 by a group of passionate volunteers, including former Guardian journalist John Baron, the platform strives to make news more accessible and engage local communities in its delivery. With a team of over 60 contributors, they cover a range of communities including Armley, Bramley, Burley, Calverley, Farnley, Farsley, Kirkstall, Pudsey, Rodley, and Wortley.
As a not-for-profit social enterprise overseen by West Leeds Community Media, the organization is managed by a board of volunteers who share an interest in community cohesion and engagement. West Leeds Dispatch is politically neutral and welcomes comments that contribute to constructive discussions. Additionally, they offer advertising opportunities on their website and print edition.
