the Westside Basketball Club

Westside Girls Basketball Club is a community-based youth basketball organization serving families in Westside Kauai, Hawaii. Built around a supportive ‘ohana, the club helps girls and boys in grades 2–8 develop as athletes and individuals. Its mission emphasizes hard work, dedication, sacrifice, and teamwork, while preparing young players for future success.

The club offers year-round basketball opportunities across three age divisions. Players in grades 3–4 focus on basketball basics and development, while grades 5–6 participate in travel-team play and skills development. The grades 7–8 division combines travel-team competition with elite development. Westside also promotes camps, including a basketball camp for Special Olympics athletes, and shares information about registration and ways to support the program.

Teams take part in tournaments and events, including competitions organized by Hype Her Hoops and the Future Stars Circuit. Coaching is led by Head Coach Jason “Hoss” Peralta, with Katherine “Kate” Plyler serving as assistant coach. The club is supported by local community partners and welcomes families interested in joining or contributing.
