West Side FM is a community Radio Station and NPO based in and operating in the West Rand. The organisation was founded by Goodhope Ledwaba, an individual who saw the lack of communication between the communities of the West Rand as well as the lack of access the West Rand had to the rest of the country. West Side FM is the bridge built to close those gaps.

About WEST SIDE FM
Westside FM 98. 9 is an established radio station that has been providing an engaging and challenging radio experience to the West Rand community since its establishment in June 2007. Our vision is to advance social cohesion in the West Rand by improving access to local communication, information, and community events.
We strive to contribute to the education, health, and social wealth of the diverse communities of the West Rand by providing access to a truly independent community radio station. Our mission is to provide a local and community-focused radio service for the West Rand, incorporating program content based on the input from our communities. We aim to increase the sense of connectedness between people of all ages, social, cultural, and ethnic backgrounds.
As the general community radio station of choice, we offer a mix of talk and music. Our programs are primarily presented in vernacular languages such as Setswana, IsiXhosa, IsiZulu, and Sesotho, as well as English. Our wide range of music genres includes Afro-pop, Afro-jazz, R&B, Soul, Kwaito, House, Reggae, Dancehall, and Hip Hop.
