About wETH
Introducing wETH, the ERC20 tradable version of ETH, powered by Interereum. wETH, or "wrapped ETH," allows you to trade directly with alt tokens on decentralized platforms such as Radar Relay. So, why do you need wETH? Well, ETH doesn't conform to its own ERC-20 standard, which is where wETH comes in.
When you "wrap" ETH, you're essentially trading it for an equal amount of wETH via a smart contract. This enables seamless trading with anyone holding an ERC-20 token. The future of wETH may be uncertain, as steps are being taken to update the ETH codebase to comply with its ERC-20 standards, and there are already discussions about other token standards like ERC223.
However, for now, wETH serves as a crucial bridge for trading between ETH and other tokens on decentralized platforms, providing a standardized format for every token to ensure smooth and secure trades
