Its pools filter water through plant roots and natural substrates, creating clean, clear, chemical-free water while supporting bird and animal life in gardens. The company was founded by architect Anthony Philbrick, whose interest in sustainable design led him to build his first natural pool in 2006. Since then, wetlandPOOLS has completed more than 400 installations across South Africa, including new pools, conversions and special projects.
Alongside pool design and installation, wetlandPOOLS offers monthly and seasonal maintenance plans, as well as servicing for pumps, water features and other water-related technologies. The company operates an indigenous wetland plant nursery focused on bringing nature back into residential and commercial environments. It also maintains aquaria and provides parallel water-purification solutions, including reverse osmosis and ozone sterilization, drawing on its wetland expertise. Its portfolio, FAQs and articles introduce customers to natural pool design, care and completed projects across the region.
