About WFTO-ASIA
WFTO Asia is the leading voice of Fair Trade in Asia, working towards greater equity in international trade. As a membership body for dedicated Fair Trade Organizations (FTOs), WFTO Asia empowers vulnerable producers, farmers, and workers through trade. The organization has a multi-faceted mission.
Firstly, it aims to establish credibility by representing all fully committed FTOs in Asia. Secondly, it strives to raise awareness of Fair Trade principles at grassroots, national, and regional levels, advocating for Fair Trade and influencing trade policies. WFTO Asia also emphasizes market access for its members.
It facilitates the sharing of tools and training to improve local and regional market access, fostering cooperation among Fair Trade groups and cultivating domestic and regional market linkages. Lastly, the organization promotes networking among its members, encouraging collaboration, sharing of innovative ideas, and skill development. It aims to expand its membership to cover all countries in the region.
