About Whalebone Golf Club
Whalebone Golf Club is a modern golf and leisure venue in Chadwell Heath, Essex, on the outskirts of East London. Formerly known as Golf Kingdom, the venue rebranded as Whalebone Golf Club after being acquired by Blackedge Golf and British Ensign Golf, with new owners describing the change as more than a rename — a fundamental shift toward a modern, open, community-led club.
The Golf Business
The centerpiece is an 18-hole Masters Course, alongside a 25-bay TopTracer driving range, a bar, and an e-sports simulator, catering to golfers of every level. Beyond traditional golf, the club offers Moby Golf (mini-golf), FootGolf, and beginner-friendly formats, giving newcomers multiple ways into the sport. The club is one of the UK's first to build a bespoke FootGolf course with purpose-built synthetic tees and greens, and the first in the UK to do so over a full 18 holes. Its family-friendly Moby Golf course features a 60-metre lagoon, an 8-metre waterfall, and a nod to Dagenham's local sperm-whale legend, Moby Dick — enjoyed by players ranging from age 3 to 83.
Whalebone Golf Club + 3
The club's philosophy centers on accessibility: no dress codes, no gatekeeping, and a welcoming space designed for anyone regardless of background, ability, or experience — whether that's a first swing, a casual round with friends, or serious practice. Co-founder Edward Blacker has spoken about preserving golf's traditional spirit — its calm, craft, and challenge — while removing the barriers that have historically kept people out of the sport.

Whalebone Golf Club also hosts events, parties, and offers, positioning itself as a full leisure destination rather than a purely traditional golf club.
