About Whanganui Port
Whanganui Port serves as a crucial hub in New Zealand's supply chain, offering essential berthing facilities for coastal freight vessels and commercial boats. Located in the charming Whanganui region, the port is home to Coastal Bulk Shipping’s M. V.
Anatoki, which transports vital bulk cargoes such as grain, fertiliser, and gravel throughout the country. Currently undergoing significant upgrades as part of the Te Pūwaha revitalisation project, Whanganui Port is set to enhance its capabilities with modern facilities, including a mobile boat hoist with a 380-tonne lift capacity, enabling advanced boat building and maintenance by Q-West, New Zealand's premier boat builders. In addition to commercial services, the port features a boat ramp and trailer park, accommodating recreational fishing enthusiasts eager to explore the region's abundant marine life.
With a commitment to sustainable economic growth and community welfare, Whanganui Port aims to solidify its role as a leading marine precinct for future generations while fostering resilience within the national supply chain
