About — WhatsNext
WhatsNext Systems develops configurable battery-management and data-link hardware for drones, robots, vehicles and other applications that need detailed battery information. Its MODB smart BMS boards monitor individual cell voltages, pack voltage and temperatures, balance cells, estimate state of charge and health, and report data over an isolated CAN bus using standard DroneCAN battery messages. The boards do not switch power, leaving the flight controller or other system controller to decide how to respond to warnings.
The MODB-BB supports 6S–12S battery packs and is designed for larger drone packs. The compact MODB-SB supports 3S–8S packs and includes onboard current sensing up to 100 A. Both can be configured for different cell counts, chemistries and operating limits, with series stacking available for higher-voltage systems. WhatsNext Systems also offers the MODL-Core pMDDL2450 carrier board for Microhard pMDDL IP-mesh radios. Its technology is aimed at applications including aircraft, ground robots, light electric vehicles, storage systems and marine equipment, with configurations developed to suit specific systems.
