What Squirrels Do

What Squirrels Do is an educational website for people who want to understand, feed, attract, deter, or humanely remove squirrels. Its guidance draws on researched information, the creator’s real-life experience caring for baby squirrels, volunteer work at a wildlife hospital, and observations of squirrel behavior. The site offers practical resources on squirrel diets, including food preferences, nutritional balance, calcium and phosphorus ratios, and the best and worst nuts to provide.

Feeding articles and videos address common questions and compare foods, helping readers make informed choices. For people dealing with nuisance squirrels, the website shares deterrent ideas and information about safe, humane removal, including squirrels in attics and crawl spaces; it does not provide advice on hunting or harming them. Visitors can also explore frequently asked questions about squirrel habits, browse photos and videos, and download free activity worksheets for children.

With a friendly, curious tone and a clear appreciation for wildlife, What Squirrels Do aims to make learning about squirrels useful, engaging, and enjoyable
