Whereis is an Australian mapping and local discovery service that helps people find places, plan trips and connect with businesses. Its maps cover Australian cities, towns and travel destinations, with driving directions and traveller information to support journeys around the country. Users can search by what they are looking for and where they want to find it, or use their location to explore nearby options.

The service also connects visitors with local businesses through directory listings and popular-category searches. These include professionals and services such as lawyers, dentists, restaurants, plumbers, electricians, mechanics, doctors, builders and locksmiths, with listings highlighted across major Australian cities and regional destinations.

For businesses seeking greater visibility, the site promotes Yellow Pages offerings, including free listings and digital marketing solutions. These can include online advertising, search engine marketing and social marketing, aimed at helping small businesses reach more customers and grow their online presence. Whereis sits within a broader directory network that also includes Yellow Pages, Truelocal and Whitepages, providing a practical destination for both Australian travellers and people searching for local services.
