About Signal
Signal is an independent nonprofit organization that develops a secure messaging app designed to make private communication simple and accessible. Its core offering is end-to-end encrypted messaging and calling, powered by the open-source Signal Protocol. Signal says it cannot read users’ messages or listen to their calls, and privacy is built into the service rather than offered as an optional mode.
