Whistling Pines Ranch

Whistling Pines Ranch is a family-run Suri alpaca farm in the rolling hills between Clayton and Prairie Farm, Wisconsin. Established in 2008, the ranch breeds alpacas with a focus on improving fleece quality and conformation across generations. Its breeding program emphasizes fleece density, fineness, and consistency, supported by objective assessments such as fiber analysis and skin biopsies, alongside show results. The herd includes champion animals and groups selected for elite fiber qualities in both colored and light or white fleeces.

The ranch offers alpacas for sale and welcomes clients interested in starting or expanding a breeding or fiber herd. Its team can discuss animal selection and the potential traits of unborn cria based on parental records. Whistling Pines Ranch also has a farm store featuring alpaca-related products and invites visitors to arrange appointments to see the animals and available goods. The ranch cares for its animals through daily interaction, preventative health measures, and carefully managed forage, including hay grown on the property.
