Whitehall Sands is a golf destination taking shape on a former sand mine in Whitehall, Wisconsin. Rather than erase the siteβs history, the project aims to reclaim and reshape its exposed sand, quarry walls, ridgelines, elevation, and wide-open views into a distinctive inland links experience. Designed by Jay Blasi Design, the course is planned to follow the natural character of the property, with sand corridors, elevated edges, and broad, playable ground.
The destination is being developed around public golf, lodging, and a limited founding group known as The Herdsmen. These founders are helping bring the project to life while maintaining a lasting connection to its beginnings. Development began with land acquisition in spring 2025, followed by major site work in 2026. Course shaping and grow-in are planned to continue through 2027, with a full public opening targeted for 2028. Set among the rolling bluffs of Whitehall, Whitehall Sands aims to offer a quiet retreat with convenient highway and MSP Airport connections.
