About Whitgift Care
Whitgift Care is a brand with a rich heritage spanning over 425 years, dedicated to caring for the community of Croydon. It all started with John Whitgift, Archbishop of Canterbury, who recognized the hardships faced by the people of Croydon and wanted to leave a lasting legacy for the town. With his vision, he established an almshouse to support the poor and an educational institution to provide quality education to the youth.
Today, Whitgift Care offers a range of services for the community, including nursing care for older people at Whitgift House, sheltered accommodation at the Whitgift Almshouses, and support for unpaid carers through the Carers Information Service. The brand also operates Old Palace of John Whitgift School, Trinity School, and Whitgift School, providing a comprehensive education for students.
