About Women for Human Rights
WHR Nepal, which stands for Women for Human Rights, is a renowned single women group dedicated to empowering and advocating for the rights of single women in Nepal. Their mission is to ensure that single women live dignified lives with sustainable livelihoods, social acceptance, and are recognized both nationally and globally. Since its establishment in May 1995, WHR has made significant achievements and received numerous awards and recognition at national and regional levels.
They have organized 5 international and regional conferences and have gained ECOSOC status at the United Nations since July 2011. WHR also focuses on institutional development, having established 5 regional networks across the country. Through their programs like the Opportunity Fund, Chhahari, and Aadhar, WHR provides support and empowers single women in various aspects of their lives.
They also engage in advocacy, humanitarian response, and promote the rights of widows. WHR operates in multiple districts and provinces in Nepal, partnering with organizations and individuals who share their vision.
