Why Not Association

Why Not Association is an animal welfare organization dedicated to reducing the suffering of stray dogs through emergency rescue and long-term, sustainable projects. Inspired by WHY, a dog rescued with her pregnant mother in 2018 and later adopted, the organization works to give other dogs the chance to experience safety, care, and a permanent home. Its mission highlights the needs of street dogs in countries including Italy, as well as Romania and Spain.

The association rescues dogs, arranges adoptions, and recruits foster homes, helping supporters find suitable ways to care for individual animals. It also carries out and supports sterilization work to address the causes of stray animal populations; its reported figures include 354 dogs rescued, 190 dogs placed in homes, and sterilizations for 273 dogs and 891 cats.
