Wikimedia Perú

Wikimedia Perú is dedicated to promoting free knowledge and collaborative projects through numerous initiatives, including its latest offering: viaf.wikimedia.org.pe. Following recent updates to the VIAF (Virtual International Authority File) website, which affected the accessibility of identifier queries, Wikimedia Perú has stepped in to provide a reliable service that ensures continuity for users of Wikidata. Alongside this service, they have updated essential tools like viaf.js and moreIdentifiers.js to align with the newly structured VIAF responses, allowing seamless integration for current users.

In addition to digital services, Wikimedia Perú engages in various projects focused on cultural heritage and education, such as Wiki Loves Monuments and Wiki Qhapaq Ñan. Their commitment extends beyond digital resources to include community-driven initiatives like workshops and edit-a-thons that encompass diverse subjects from gender rights to environmental conservation. This multifaceted approach demonstrates Wikimedia Perú's mission to foster inclusivity and support for open knowledge across different communities in Peru.
