Wild Cat Conservation Centre is a specialised wild cat sanctuary in Wilberforce, in the Hawkesbury Valley, about an hour northwest of Sydney, Australia. Established in 2016, it works to protect endangered wild cat species through ethical care, education, research, conservation breeding and rewilding. The centre is home to cheetahs, clouded leopards, servals, caracals and fishing cats, and has Australia’s largest cheetah habitat.
It describes itself as a sanctuary rather than a zoo or wildlife park, aiming to give its animals space and choice to express natural behaviours, such as running, leaping and climbing. Its conservation work includes breeding and research programs, as well as rewilding cheetahs back to Africa. Visitors can book exclusive, private, pre-arranged tours to see the cats in naturalistic surroundings and learn about the centre’s programs.
These visits also help raise funds for its conservation efforts. The centre invites supporters to contribute through donations, cat sponsorship, bequests and workplace giving, and shares news and conservation updates with its community
