Wilde Bühne Bremen e.V. is a Bremen-based theatre organisation whose work brings lived experience of addiction into creative performance and health education. At its heart is a 24-member ensemble of people affected by addiction, whose personal histories inform their roles as performers and contributors to the organisation’s theatre work. The ensemble tours across Germany, performing in schools, youth centres, theatres and at professional events.
Its productions and projects focus on addiction and violence prevention. Through participatory theatre, Wilde Bühne aims to support life skills, risk awareness and a sense of personal agency. The programme includes productions such as Schwefelgelb, about life doubts, intoxication and pushing boundaries, alongside works addressing topics including alcohol, family experiences and social pressures.
Wilde Bühne also offers workshops, specialist training for teachers and other multipliers, and school-focused projects, including video work. Its activities connect performance with opportunities for learning and discussion, particularly for young people and professional audiences. Based at Bremen’s Volkshaus, the organisation also hosts events and promotes participation in an alcohol-free, supportive setting.
