Wilderness Within

Wilderness Within is an organization focused on rebuilding relationships between people, culture, ecosystems, and ancestral heritage. It creates experiences that help participants reconnect with the natural world and understand their role as custodians of the environments around them. Its approach brings together ancestral skills, wild awareness, ceremony, storytelling, games, crafts, and play.

The Cicada – Nature Connected Support program offers NDIS support focused on nurturing independence, encouraging personal growth, and creating memorable experiences. Rather than treating support as a checklist, it aims to build confidence and connection to nature. Birabaan Bush School and camps introduce children to ancestral and survival skills through structured and unstructured play, helping them feel at home outdoors and develop a relationship with the natural world. Wilderness Within also provides personalized nature connection mentoring, supporting people to strengthen their connection with local landscapes.

The organization acknowledges Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples and elders, and Indigenous peoples worldwide and their enduring connections to land.
