Wilhelma

Wilhelma is Stuttgart’s zoological and botanical garden, described as the only institution of its kind in Germany. It brings together a wide range of animals, plant collections and a landscaped park, alongside historic buildings and themed areas for visitors to explore. The garden’s work extends beyond public visits: conservation is a central part of its mission, with projects supporting threatened species and habitats in Germany and around the world. Visitors can contribute through donations, sponsorships, animal and plant adoptions, membership, or an optional conservation contribution when purchasing tickets.

Wilhelma offers practical visitor services including online ticket sales, opening information, maps, travel and parking guidance, accessibility resources and a mobile app. Its programme includes animal talks, guided and exclusive tours, seasonal events, special exhibitions, children’s birthday activities and photo sessions. Educational services include school visits, learning materials and professional development for educators. The site also highlights family facilities and dining options. Through its combination of wildlife, botanical diversity, education and conservation, Wilhelma offers an engaging destination for visitors of different ages.
