Wind Ridge Schoolhouse

Wind Ridge Schoolhouse is a neighborhood nature preschool in Duluth, Minnesota, established in 2014. A Cedarsong Way Accredited School, it centers early childhood learning on outdoor exploration and child-led play. Its preschool program welcomes up to eight children each day, creating a gentle, child-centered environment where every child has room to participate and grow.

Nature play is at the heart of the daily experience. Through self-guided play with peers, children explore their surroundings, follow their curiosity, develop creative ideas, and sustain imaginative play. The approach also encourages hands-on learning, storytelling, meaningful friendships, and opportunities to practice interacting with others. Wind Ridge Schoolhouse supports children’s sense of connection with the natural world, including plants, animals, and people, while fostering growth in confidence, kindness, resilience, and independence.

The school shares information about its program and enrollment, and its website also features Cedarsong Way teacher training. Overall, Wind Ridge Schoolhouse offers families a nature-focused preschool experience grounded in exploration, relationships, and wonder.
