About Windsupportnyc
Wind Support NYC is a brand that aims to accelerate the adoption of wind propulsion in maritime transport. Founded in December 2020 by two Bretons who now call New York City home, Wind Support NYC is driven by the belief that wind should be utilized once again to power ocean-going vessels. With 80% of consumer goods, commodities, and energy transported by sea, there is a pressing need to address the high environmental cost of global shipping, which accounts for 3% of global greenhouse gas emissions annually.
To raise awareness and promote innovation in the maritime industry, Wind Support NYC produces a supply chain podcast called "Hoisting the Sail", where they interview maritime professionals and discuss the transformation of maritime transport. Additionally, Wind Support NYC collaborates closely with technology developers, ship owners, operators, cargo owners, trade associations, and advocates to develop projects that accelerate the adoption of wind propulsion.
Headquartered on Governors Island in New York City, Wind Support NYC is dedicated to decarbonizing ocean shipping and leading the way towards a more sustainable future for the industry. Stay updated on their progress by following them on LinkedIn, Twitter, and Instagram.
