Welcome to Schloss Kapfenstein and the BIO Weingut Winkler-Hermaden, where you can experience mineral-rich and exceptional organic wines from the Vulkanland Steiermark. At Weingut Winkler-Hermaden, their focus is on quality and sustainability. They manage 37 hectares of vineyards according to organic principles, resulting in reductive and long-lived wines with a focus on complexity.
The steep slopes of volcanic basalt and tuff, coupled with high rainfall, require meticulous manual labor. Since 2018, Christof, Thomas, and Wolfgang Winkler-Hermaden have proudly led the winery with the support of their parents, Georg and Margot. In addition to their winemaking endeavors, the family also operates a small hotel and restaurant on Schloss Kapfenstein, where they serve regional specialties.
