About Winnisquam Watershed Network
The Winnisquam Watershed Network (WWN) is a collaborative organization dedicated to preserving and protecting Lake Winnisquam and its watershed for current and future generations. Its work encompasses Lakes Winnisquam, Wicwas and Opechee, serving communities including Meredith, Laconia, Sanbornton, Belmont, Tilton, Gilford and New Hampton. WWN brings individuals and organizations together to support lake health through invasive species management, water quality monitoring, watershed management and wildlife monitoring. Its programs also include LakeSmart, continuous monitoring buoys and initiatives that encourage responsible lake stewardship.
The network provides educational resources about the lake, its history, public access and watershed, alongside water level observations and information on current conditions. Community events, news and partnerships help residents and visitors learn about local environmental issues and take part in conservation efforts. People can support WWN by becoming members or sponsors, making donations, volunteering or exploring planned giving. The organization also promotes practical stewardship initiatives, including a lead tackle buyback program, helping the community contribute to the long-term care of Lake Winnisquam.
