About 38 Winterwerkstatt Alfter
Winterwerkstatt Alfter is an annual creative workshop programme organised by Alanus Forum e.V., which promotes dialogue in art and culture and brings together different art forms and generations. Held during the holiday period between Christmas and early January, the Winterwerkstatt takes place at the Alanus Hochschule campus and Werkhaus in Alfter, Germany. It offers participants time and space to explore artistic ideas, learn from experienced instructors, and exchange inspiration with others.
The programme includes courses in painting, drawing and other visual arts, sculpture, dance, movement, writing, music and photography. Workshops range from stone carving and printmaking to improvisation, Biodanza, handpan, and creative photography. The 2026/27 edition also introduces a three-day children’s atelier. Courses are offered across two sessions, with options for different interests and creative practices. The organisers provide information about course fees, accommodation and meals, and welcome participants to register for workshops. All creative workshops during the Christmas holidays in North Rhine-Westphalia are recognised as educational leave under the state’s AWbG §9.
