Wisingsborgs Grevskaps Intresseförening is a nonprofit association dedicated to preserving and promoting the historical heritage of Wisingsborg County and the influence of the Brahe counts. Its work highlights the significance of this history to people and society in Sweden, Finland, and elsewhere in Europe. The association invites people interested in safeguarding the heritage of what it describes as Sweden’s first and largest county to become members.
Membership costs SEK 150, with contributions supporting efforts to halt the deterioration of Wisingsborg Castle and make it accessible to the public. The association also aims to bring the castle’s history to life by enabling activities and events, including performances, theatre, concerts, exhibitions, and dinners inspired by sixteenth- and seventeenth-century styles. Through its historical information, images, updates, and community partnerships, the organisation encourages public involvement in preserving the past and shaping the site’s future.
Its central mission is to protect the legacy of Wisingsborg and the Brahe counts for broader public appreciation
