The Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project Inc. is a dedicated non-profit organization that serves as a trustworthy source of historical information about Wisconsin's LGBTQ community. Founded with the mission to collect, curate, and disseminate valuable historical narratives, the Project utilizes various platforms including a website, books, articles, and media interviews to promote understanding and appreciation of LGBTQ history in the state.

Operating as a self-funded, all-volunteer team for nearly three decades, the Project emphasizes the importance of community involvement, welcoming collaboration from other LGBTQ organizations across Wisconsin. They provide most of their services free of charge, aiming to preserve and highlight the rich tapestry of LGBTQ experiences and stories.

The Wisconsin LGBTQ History Project also engages in fundraising efforts to support its ongoing initiatives, fostering awareness through events, talks, and historical exhibitions. Their commitment to archiving and sharing Wisconsin LGBTQ history ensures that vital narratives are preserved for future generations.
