About WMMI
The Western Museum of Mining and Industry (WMMI) is a must-visit destination for anyone interested in the rich mining history of Colorado and the American West. Established in 1970, WMMI offers a unique and immersive experience with its extensive collection of working machinery and historic buildings spread across its picturesque 27-acre campus. Inside the 12,200 square foot exhibit hall, visitors can try their hand at gold panning, explore a model mining drift, and discover the fascinating world of fluorescent minerals in the Fluorescent Mineral Room.
