About WoC MUD
Worlds of Carnage MUD is a longstanding text-based game that offers players an immersive fantasy experience through an engaging social medium. Established near the dawn of MUD gaming, its code-base is adapted from the original DIKU source, which has allowed it to evolve alongside player expectations. Notable for its pioneering scripting system, originally allowing builders to enhance the game world, Worlds of Carnage has faced its challenges over the years, including server outages and internal conflicts, all of which have largely been resolved.
Today, Worlds of Carnage boasts advanced features such as an SQL backend for managing areas and players, XML data structures, and an innovative embedded scripting engine known as BlobbieScript. Players can access the game directly in their browsers or via telnet, fostering a unique experience where storytelling is paramount.
