WOFAK, which stands for Women Fighting HIV & AIDS in Kenya, is a national non-governmental organization that was founded in 1994. It was established by a group of women, many of whom had tested HIV positive themselves. The organization works in partnership with various stakeholders to make a significant impact in the field of HIV/AIDS prevention, care, and support.

WOFAK's primary focus is on empowering women and children who are infected and affected by HIV and AIDS. They offer a range of programs and services aimed at ensuring these individuals have access to comprehensive care, education, economic empowerment, and psychosocial support. By conducting ongoing research, WOFAK stays informed about the specific needs and challenges faced by vulnerable women and children affected by HIV and AIDS.

This enables them to design and implement proactive and comprehensive programs that have a lasting impact on the community. WOFAK's commitment extends beyond project implementation. They provide continuous follow-up and support to their beneficiaries to ensure they are able to fully participate and benefit from the programs offered.

Recently, WOFAK has been providing food and hygiene support to people living with HIV and key populations during the COVID-19 pandemic. They have also been offering nutritional support to vulnerable households in Homa Bay County. With over 20 years of existence, WOFAK has made significant contributions to the efforts of preventing HIV/AIDS and improving the lives of women, youth, and children affected by the disease in Kenya.
