Waitara Offshore Fishing Club Inc. is a community fishing club based in Waitara, bringing together offshore fishing enthusiasts through competitions, events and shared club activities. Its website provides information about the club’s committee, weigh masters, honours, records, members and sponsors, along with news and galleries documenting fishing seasons and competitions.

Members can take part in monthly and annual points competitions, a top boat competition, memorial and president’s trophy events, and marlin trophy competitions. The club also publishes competition results, angler rankings and club records, recognizing catches such as snapper, terakihi, John Dory, yellowfin tuna and marlin.
