Wolf Run

Wolf Run Wildlife Refuge is a Kentucky-based 501(c)(3) nonprofit charity dedicated to rescuing wildlife, providing education, and offering lifelong sanctuary to animals that cannot return to the wild. Located in Jessamine County, the refuge describes itself as Kentucky’s oldest sanctuary of its kind, with more than 40 years of lifesaving experience. Its all-volunteer staff operates a USDA- and Kentucky-licensed facility and supports wolves, wolfdogs, coyotes, bobcats, servals, deer, foxes, parrots, and other animals.

Wolf Run’s work includes wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and release, as well as permanent care for animals unable to live safely in the wild. Sanctuary residents receive species-appropriate food, veterinary care, secure habitats, daily attention, and enrichment. The organization also offers educational information about its animals, volunteer and job opportunities, events, and a gift shop. Its shirts feature designs created in-house, with purchases supporting the animals’ care. Community members can also contribute through donations and programs such as Kroger Community Rewards. To protect animal welfare, the refuge is closed to the public.
