About Women in Exile
Women in Exile & Friends is a feminist organization founded by refugee women in Brandenburg in 2002 to fight for the rights of refugee women who face double discrimination. Serving as a platform for refugee women, we bring attention to the inhumane living conditions they endure and work towards political change. In 2011, activists without a refugee background joined us to form Women in Exile and Friends, focusing on abolishing discriminatory laws and addressing the interconnections of racism and sexism.
We aim to be a bridge between the refugee and feminist movements, advocating for equal rights for all. Through peer education programs and workshops, we empower refugee women nationwide to speak out against injustice, demand their rights, and improve their living situations. Our ultimate goal is a just society without exclusion or discrimination.
