About Women Artists Forward Fund
The Women Artists Forward Fund (WAFF) is a groundbreaking initiative aimed at addressing gender disparity in the art world. The fund provides financial resources, recognition, and community support to talented women visual artists in Dane County, Wisconsin. As part of their mission, WAFF holds an endowment fund at Madison Community Foundation and offers unrestricted Forward Art Prizes of $10,000 each year.
The Forward Art Prize serves to strengthen the recipients' artistic practice by providing them with crucial financial resources and valuable recognition. By leveraging their creative capital, artists are empowered to take their work to new heights and contribute to a thriving, inclusive art community. Notably, WAFF ranks among the top three funds for women artists nationally in terms of the amount of money awarded annually.
