Women for Women International is a nonprofit organization that is dedicated to empowering women in conflict-affected areas. Our inspiring story began in 1993 during the Bosnian War, where founder Zainab Salbi heard the stories of women who felt invisible and forgotten. Determined to make a difference, she created Women for Women International, which has since reached 553,437 marginalized women in 14 conflict-affected countries.

Our programs are designed to provide support and skills to women survivors of war, helping them rebuild their lives and work towards a better future. Through our year-long training program, women develop essential skills, build support networks, and improve their family's health. We believe in the power of sisterhood and solidarity, and we facilitate letter exchanges and connections between women in conflict-affected areas and sponsor sisters around the world.
