The Women in Finance Network (WiFN) is a South African community established in 2013 to support women working in the financial services industry. Founded by Kim Potgieter, the network provides a forum for women to share experiences, learn from one another, build professional relationships and access peer support and mentorship. WiFN is independent of any particular company and welcomes members to contribute their own knowledge and perspectives.
The network organises regional events featuring expert speakers, opportunities to connect with peers and role models, and activities that combine learning with enjoyment. Members can also access an online community, articles and blogs by members, and updates and insights through WiFN’s Facebook, LinkedIn and Instagram pages.
WiFN also supports women entering the financial planning profession through its bursary. The 2027 award is for one South African woman studying an Honours degree or Postgraduate Diploma in Financial Planning, and covers tuition fees and prescribed textbooks. Applications close on 31 January 2027.
