Women in Trades (WIT) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to promoting trades and trades training as viable career options for women and employers in New Zealand. We are fueled by a passionate group of individuals from the trades and trades services industries. Our mission stems from the fact that trades contribute significantly to the national economy, with a value of $3 added to the economy for every $1 invested in construction and trades work.

Yet, despite comprising half of the population, women hold less than 12% of trades jobs. Additionally, New Zealand's youth unemployment rates are at 15%, triple the national average. Encouraging young people, particularly women, to pursue trades training is essential for keeping up with the projected growth in the sector.

We provide a platform for women to explore trades training and career opportunities, taking into account the unique challenges and advantages they face. Our events connect women with other tradeswomen, information on trades careers, potential employers, training providers, industry services, and relevant organizations.
